Advent has long been considered the first season of the Christian church year, leading up to Christmas and including the four preceding Sundays.
The word “Advent,” comes from the Latin word meaning “coming.” Advent celebrates the coming of Jesus into our world. Each week covers one of the four traditional words associated with Advent: Hope, Love, Joy, and Peace.
